This bill allows minors to consent to contraception services and supplies.

This bill would exempt medication abortion drugs and certain hormones from the Prescription Monitoring program for controlled substances, thus excluding them from reporting and data collection requirements.

The Illinois Department of Public Health issued a standing order that allows licensed pharmacists, with additional training and upon obtaining a patient screening, to dispense up to a 12-month supply of prescription contraception. It also allows pharmacists to dispense over-the-counter contraceptive pills, emergency contraception, condoms and pregnancy tests without any additional training or screening requirements.

This bill requires electronic health networks to segregate protected health information including certain abortion-related services and gender dysphoria treatments and allow this information to be kept from disclosure to out-of-state entities with limited exceptions or unless the patient consents.
